This course covers both law and practice of Insurance law. It will provide an overview of the developing law of insurance, combining exposition of the law with critical analysis of relevant case law. The course examines the regulation of insurance business and the general principles underlying the law of insurance contracts. As the course progresses, the trainer will look at ways in which these principles are shaped by the particular insurance context in which they operate in. The course will also scrutinise risk management approaches and the handling of insurance claims. These and many more practical issues relevant to industrial
disputes and claims will be addressed as the course progresses.
